Neatness VS Creativity???

I need to put to rest a question that has plagued me since my earliest creating adventures...

Please Leave a comment below and help me answer this artful question...
Is neatness more important to you ( ie. executation, attention to detail etc.) or the creativity (color combo's, and design) of the artwork???
I would love to hear from you on this!

Hmm...that is one I have wondered but to be honest. I think that creativity rules over all. At times I will feel as if my being an artist is causing a HUGE mess. There really isn't anything that can take the place of the freedom that comes from creating.
I hope this answered your question.

I can't choose Amber...sorry...I'm picky as to color and content but then again I'm also a detail freak...as to placement, the right embellishment...the fact it goes with the overall theme...I think this is why I create so little...I'm obsessive about it...that, and my muse vacations alot...lazy girl that she is! ;)

I suppose I would have to ask you to define neatness because I'm not sure I understand what you mean by applying it to the art itself. If you're referring to placement that is symmetrical or tidy looking, then I suppose it would be a matter of style. Mondrian appeals to me, but isn't how I work (maybe that's why it's appealing--ha, ha!). At the same time I don't just slap stuff down in any old place and call it creative--I really care about where each element goes, even down to the minutest of adjustments and how well the color scheme works, etc. Do I work with rulers and triangles and aim for perfection--no, but I do often make some rough measurements for centering. I'm not sure my response is of any help to you... --LaRinda
